Mercurio approaches his life and work like a vessel, listening for a signal, a vibration pulled from the space between synchronicity and the strange fluidity of time. Obbsessed with exploring connections, a sense that the unseen has always been present, just waiting to be felt. Influences include David Lynch, Jim Henson and Dali.

Paradoxical questions of free will and fate drift like smoke through his process, anchored by the whisper of the latin phrase— omnia causa fiunt [everything happens for a reason]. Through his art, Mercurio opens a doorway—a quiet nudge to look closer, to feel deeper; while inviting others to discover threads of meaning woven into their experiences, to sense the hidden connections in the spaces where answers dissolve, and lovingly embrace the mystery and divinity in all things, and ultimately; regain their childlike wonder.

Michael Mercurio is a multi-disciplinary artist, based out of Los Angeles, CA., known for his distinctive freestanding and high-relief sculptures, as well as mixed media works.
Originally from Brooklyn, New York, he is primarily self-taught, aside from a handful of workshops at the Brooklyn Museum in his early youth.
It wasn’t until 2010 in Los Angeles that he fully embraced art not just as expression, but as a form of medicine; an antidote to the numbing effects of cultural constructs.
In addition to fine art, Mercurio is a trained film actor and has recently extended his creativity to carpentry-design, and mentoring other creative professionals, guiding them to rediscover their purpose and passion.
